SCS Group has been successfully reaccredited with the Investors in People standard.
SCS Group was first accredited with the Investors in People (IiP) standard in 1999 and has now held IiP accreditation for 13 years.
Launched in 1991, Investors in People is the UK's leading people management standard. Companies are assessed against areas such as business strategy, learning and development, and involvement and empowerment.
The IiP Assessor found that the company’s key strengths included:
- A strong culture of teamworking and openness of communication.
- A learning culture where training is carefully selected and focused on business needs.
- All staff being exposed to relevant training. This results in consistency of delivery, understanding and application of skills learned.
The Assessor also praised the company’s approach to apprenticeships and ‘homegrowing’ the next generation of building services engineers.
The company’s apprentices reported that they are well supported and compared their working experience favourably against that of other students at their college. They said that they ‘respect the knowledge of the experienced people – and want to be the same.’
This was highlighted as an example of young people being encouraged by the behaviour and professionalism of their more experienced colleagues and mentors.
Allan Meek, Managing Director of SCS Group, said:
“We are delighted to have been reaccredited with the Investors in People standard. Our people are at the heart of our organisation and staff wellbeing is extremely important to us. We are proud to have had our efforts in this area recognised by the Investors in People standard for the past 13 years.”
