SCS Group

Aftercare of your smoke ventilation system

SCS Aftercare is the service division of SCS Group. As a specialist in this field we are the ideal choice to service and maintain your system.

Your obligations

You (‘The Responsible Person') have a legal obligation under the terms of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 to ensure:

"That the premises and any facilities, equipment and devices ... are subject to a suitable system of maintenance and are maintained in an efficient state, in efficient working order and in good repair."

Furthermore, BS 5588 Part 12 states that:

"Arrangements should be made for all fire safety equipment, installations and systems including fire detection systems, door control mechanisms, smoke control systems .... to be inspected and tested on a regular basis by a competent person"

Protect your people and property

For most buildings one annual service visit is sufficient as long as

the recommended test regime is followed. For some buildings with

heavy usage or where resources may not permit site testing, it may

be desirable to have 3-monthly or 6-monthly inspection visits.

Protect your system

Your system requires a service during the warranty period for

the defects period to be valid. This is similar to buying a new car;

you get a warranty on your new car but still need to service it

regularly. We recommend a service takes place six months after

the commissioning date. We offer a 20% discount on this warranty

service.
